Honeywell has developed an economically viable control moment gyroscope for worldwide scientific and commercial markets providing higher output torque for attitude control systems. The complexity of earlier CMG designs and the extensive testing requirements have previously made CMGs unaffordable to the commercial markets – until now. Employing 30 years of CMG design and low cost commercial RWA manufacturing experience, the new M50 CMG performance picks up where reaction wheels leave off.
