Description
The COBRA Gimbal is a 3DOF (az, el, thrust) pointing mechanism that implements the Canfield Joint carpal-wrist design to provide precise, full-hemisphere pointing capability. The COBRA uses a precision-manufactured parallel linkage joint system to provide high repeatability and high precision with low size, weight and power (SWaP) impacts. It also provides continuous, singularity-free pointing without inducing cable twist/wrap – at the same time eliminating slip rings.
