AT 1k Arcjet
Overview
SITAEL AT 1k arcjet is a 1kW class electro-thermal thruster designed for a wide range of applications, such as: collision avoidance, reaction wheel desaturation, and fast de-orbiting (spacecraft disposal at EoL).
Arcjets represent the optimum trade-off between the high thrust of chemical rockets and the efficiency of electrical thrusters: they are able to provide thrust levels comparable to the chemical ones, at the same time using the electrical power available on-board to increase the specific impulse.
